Pepperoni hot pockets are recall due to pieces of hard plastics and glass
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) division has issued a Class I recall for almost “762, 615 pounds of not-ready-to-eat (NRTE) pepperoni hot pockets” due to the hot pockets having “pieces of glass and hard plastic” mixed in with the sauce, sausages, and pepperoni in the hot pockets.
The USDA issues a Class I recall whenever there is a heighten risk of a product causing a person to suffer serious or deadly injury as a result of ingesting the product.
Nestle Prepared Foods, which produces the pepperoni hot pockets, became aware of the hard plastics and glass being an added ingredient into the pepperoni hot pockets after four people contacted the company about the non-edible foreign objects in their pepperoni hot pockets.
One lady was probably like, “I need to speak to the president of Nestle Prepared Foods. He needs to know that I was able to see my reflection in the pepperoni hot pockets due to all of the glass within the sauce, sausage, and pepperoni.”
Knowing Nestle Prepared Foods, the company did what all companies do which is to wait until shit hits the fan in order to take action. And shit hit the fan after a kid accidently ate the “hard plastics and glass” in the pepperoni hot pockets. “We don’t have the budget for a lawsuit,” is what Nestle Prepared Foods President more than likely said to the board after getting the news about the non-edible ingredients sending a kid to the hospital.
Luckily for the kid , the “hard plastics and glass” didn’t cause the kid to have an oral injury that would mess up his/her ability to talk and or eat for the duration of his/her lifetime.
The pepperoni hot pockets were made between November 13, 2020, and November 16, 2020. The expiration date is February 2022 with lot codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614, and 0321544614 located underneath the expiration date. There is also a USDA mark of inspection which has the establishment number of “EST. 7721A.”
Remember, the ingredients in the pepperoni hot pockets are pork, chicken, beef, and pizza garlic crust and not the plastic and glass folks have found in it. The pepperoni hot pockets come in a pack of 12, frozen, not-ready-to-eat (NRTE); which means you have to warm it up. Therefore, throw out any pepperoni hot pockets you have and then call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 1-888-674-6854, Monday-Friday 10AM EST-6PM EST, to tell them about any extra ingredients you have found in the pepperoni hot pockets.
